Now — before I go "summer's here, summer's here" and we all jump around with joyful tears in our eyes — let us remember that we live in the Pacific Northwest. Anything could happen when it comes to the weather, or the seasons, and it usually does (I'm currently trying not to see the rain forecast for Monday). Anyway, we spiced up the Zig Zag with a few color ways that should set your little heart racing for the beach. But, I'll settle for just getting your pulse going. There is a bright blue that we're calling Superhero Blue because that's what we feel like whenever we kit up to head out. In line with that there is a Green & Gold because that is what we decided on and then there is what we are calling Purple Sunrise. You know that purple-ish hue that permeates the sky as you make your first cup of coffee and get ready to ride? Well, I have heard many people talk about this color so we thought we should pay tribute to it somehow, some way.
We called on our friend Alex Dickinson AKA the Yoga King of Portland (no one calls him that) to come in and show us some of his current favorite yoga poses to do with our socks. He said, and I quote: "uh, guys I don't really do yoga poses with socks on" and when we protested he gave in rather easily. So, let's be clear - he's not really the yoga king and he doesn't normally wear socks while rocking out on the mat. However, if you have been kicking yourself thinking "how do I recognize that name?" it's because he wrote the article On Shaving earlier this month.

At some point, usually late in the day, when we are stuck on what colors work with what, we turn to our life director Ms. Julie Krasniak. We say Life Director because art director just wouldn't be enough. She swooped in at the last minute and dropped the Crazy Leggs Cubiste on us and it's been blowing people's minds and the same could be said for the Purple Sunrise version of the Zig Zag. We tried a few different colors, but when we came to this one she did her best J. P. Gaultier — pointed at the screen and said "that's the one." Or something cooler in French. Hard to tell.

Have we been too overt about our love for comic book superhero's? Is that a turn off? (More on turn off's later) Well, bear with me here. Remember when all superhero's had boots? They did. Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern. Even Booster Gold had boots and I wasn't even into that guy — too much of a showboat. Anyway, they all had boots and all the boots had these little chevrons on them, so we figured that the best way to get our own superhero boots was to just make tall socks. We'll let you find the right shoes, but we've got some in mind. See the way Alex points his toes? Like Superman flying through the air right there.

It is an interesting pairing these two. Not one to be overthought, just one to go with. Remember when the kids in school said that if you wore green on Thursday it meant you were horny? Did I just make that up? (No, I googled it, other people had heard of it too.) Well, prove them right next Thursday. At least about the color part. Can't help you on the other end. Also, if you note in the photo below - Alex is more flexible than most.
So, there you have it. A few new options for your feet. To help you with your yoga stretches. To stand outside on a few slabs of concrete between some nice cactus. These socks can be used for anything really. Special thanks to Alex for coming in and helping us stretch it out during a long day of work. Word is still out as to which one is his favorite color setup. He mentioned to us as he was leaving that he liked ----- because it matched his new cycling shoes, but he was wearing open toed sandals and no one heard which color he said. Further investigation shall commence.
