Tell us a better way to test out some new socks than an arcade? That's what we thought, you didn't actually have an answer. Well, we didn't either so that is exactly what we did. Our original plan was to bowl, but that was cut short when we noticed a holiday party in full effect. We're talking Hawaiian shirts and shorts and huge drinks with the tiny umbrellas. It's best not to get mixed up with those groups unless you're prepared to let them take over your night. Take over your life.
We were content with what we were dealt however. It gave us the opportunity to explore some of the new games out there. Whoo, if you haven't been to an arcade lately and are looking for some surprises, maybe head that way. There are Batman driving games that will near make you lose your mind. A Jurassic Park shoot em up that will leave you with nightmares, and a Walking Dead one that we just plain avoided. But, it wasn't just new ones that got an update. There was a standing, four person PacMan game that blew our minds simply because we couldn't figure out how to play it. There was also a beer pong game. You read that right, an electronic beer pong game that didn't actually involve real beer.
The cool thing about these socks, well, let's be honest, there are a few cool things. Anyway, their ability to be casual worn every day, but then step it up (pun intended) when things get sporty. It's an important distinction because why wouldn't you want your socks to do multiple things at once?
But, again, let's be serious for a minute here. These socks and waterbottles give us the chance to walk the line on producing a vintage looking sock with some very real technological benefits.
They have a little more technology in them then the Sport Socks that we previously produced. This is the next step (pun also intended) the evolution. With a soft terry bottom and arch support these are going to be great everywhere. Like, when you're trying to dodge the splashes flying off a nearly spilled drink from the aforementioned Hawaiian shirt club? Or dancing your way down the lane with an eleven pound purple polyurethane pin dropper balanced on three dainty fingers? That's always an option.
Lucky Strike in Portland was our chosen location and we hadn't planned on this black light extravaganza being our location. It just worked out that way. Plus, Thursdays's are technically "throw back Thursday's" which means that they play some special jams from the 90's (that's a throwback) in the bowling area. Complete with music videos to match on the screens. If you were missing the crooning of Gwen Steffani while you throw bowling balls around. This could be your place.
Plus, we had just come off a hot trip to the cinema where we took in a screening of Call Me By Your Name, the hot new Oscar contender. We got excited during the movie, nudging each other in the ribs each time they would show the American socks of Armie Hammer. All white and slouching down, but, striped! We knew that we had these waiting in the wings and felt totally justified for our love for them. They're that good.
Whatever the case, check out the Triple Double Socks and Waterbottles as they are available in store and online now.
