"The owner is really into grey these days. If you couldn't tell" Our good friend Sean Talkington was doing some secret shopping at our retail store one day a couple years back and this comment from our helpful staff made him laugh. However, she wasn't wrong, especially when it comes to the footwear department. Not only am I constantly trying to sneak in a grey sock or two when it comes time to design new collections (wait till you see what we have coming up!) but I can actually trace the origin of that back to a pair of "wolf grey" Jordan Mid's that I bought about 5 years ago that maybe tipped me over the top with that color. They go with everything.
Not sure what to say about these because, for some reason they flew completely under the radar on their release. I tried to get up early to get a pair of the All-Star color of the Jordan 1 High and alas, it wasn't meant to be. I couldn't clear the sleep out of my eyes quick enough to know what was going on, and like that the little button greyed over and switched to the dreaded "sold out." Curses!
So, what did I do? The only thing that I know to do, I quickly switched over to see what eBay sellers were already offering up the All Star Jordan's (officially called All Star Chameleon) at a much higher price (real cool guys). There were more than a few, but as I was scrolling around, this pair caught my eye and I went WTF are these! They look so good! Like Baron's but affordable! Sure, sure they don't have the wings logo, I get it guys. But, here's the thing about Jordan's — I love them — and I want to wear them. So, if there is a color that is nice AND easier to get ahold of (can you believe that Portland has no Jordan retailer??) something that you can wear on the daily, then what really is the problem?
Of course they're on the Nike website now, so that makes things easier. Patience is not a virtue of mine.
- Well, they're Jordan 1's.
- Buttery leather uppers
- Grey sole (the white gets too dirty looking quick)
- This grey setup is SOO GOOD!
- They pair up well with the Cubiste Black & Grey and the 290SQM wool socks.
Julie didn't want to stop with the illustrations just yet, so she went and made a couple dream pair to match up with your 290SM socks. Just a little mix and match for you to get the brain nodes firing.
- no extra laces
- no winged logo
- availability - it's the question that alway comes up with cool kicks isn't it?
- but are there really any "cons" when it comes to Jordan 1's?
