When we developed the Racing Squad division of socks we had a couple of things in mind, the first being that we wanted something that would match our kit. It is bold, I know, to want such things, but I'm not going to lie, we're bold.
If you have yet to see that read New Kit Day.
Well, this is the railroad tie that binds these tracks together. Two, we wanted something that would serve us well for those cold cyclocross races, but that would also work well as a winter training piece in and of itself. Because who can wear a skinsuit every day?
You can, however, wear socks every day. You should in fact. I have been wearing these socks for the last three days. They arrived at a time when the laundry was dirty and I was more than excited about the new version of the socks. So, I can personally attest to the fact that these Merino jobs are pretty frigging awesome.
As with the LAX Socks these are a mis-matched set of socks. One side is the Tiger that appears on the back of the kit. The one that frightens small children and the elderly that happen to be standing course-side during the weekends races. The other side is more subdued, dots. Brightly colored lime green dots.
Did you know? The French word for skinsuit is combinaison. It kind of makes sense if you think about it. The thing is a "combination" of both a jersey and some bib shorts. Plus, it has the added nickname of "un combi" which sounds really cool when the French person I live with says it, but not as cool when I try to say it with a French accent.
