The shop portion of the site got a little broader today with the addition of the LAX Airport Socks. If you have seen the film Jackie Brown (alternate opening scene below) or spent some time in LAX you may have come across this uniquely tiled wall in Terminal 4. Completed in 1961, the murals were originally designed to make the tunnels seem smaller.
There is one thing to note when ordering these socks. They do not come as a pair. That would be too easy and totally mis-representative of the wall itself. It flows out from the terminal, changing colors and temperature as it glides down the hallway — similar in fashion to that feeling of getting a good running start and then launching your sock footed self across the room on a freshly cleaned wooden floor. There's nothing like it.
These socks come as a set and a set contains three different colored socks. There is one orange, one light green and the final is a blue - all with the similar tiled feel to the socks, if that's possible of course.
They work great as a cycling sock (the bright green goes well with the Giro Hi-Vis Code shoe) or as an everyday, bright alternative to a dress sock. Because who wants to be wearing boring old dress socks anyway? The colors and patters go well together no matter the combination.
Visit the shop and pick up a set (notice I didn't say pair).
