A little while back our friend Greg Erwin stopped by the shop just as Eddie (in the booth) was setting up to record an episode of our Transmissions Podcast. Greg was in town with his band Saint Motel and only had a few hours before soundcheck so he did what every rational human does in Portland with a few hours to spare. He hopped on his bike and went for a spin.
That ride would turn out to be the impetus for taking our show on the road, as it were. The Transmissions Podcast was in its infancy at the time. It didn't have the tens or twenty-ish followers that it has now garnered. It had none of the pop and flourish that you see (hear?) now.
We couldn't deny, to ourselves, or Greg that we needed to interview him, and when we couldn't do it right then and there we decided to go to him at his home in Los Angeles, California. Then, after we booked the tickets and helped Ed pack all his gear into durable, yet portable cases, we decided that we should interview as many people as we could in a five day trip to LA. Turns out that number is four and we had to do two days of two interviews so that we could spend the other three just hanging in the sun.
Transmissions In California

Greg Erwin - drummer, enthusiast, cool guy, cyclist. Photographer. Where does the list end? We went in hot and fast with Greg and set up in his apartment. His lady was working away behind us, and we just went for it.
Erika Christensen - actor, wife, mother, total shredder of gravel. We had a small window of opportunity to interview Erika at her home, she was on a break from filming her new show.
Dan Koeppel - author, writer, in the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Banana man. He's put together a few "little" hikes around LA, mostly through the hills and hidden stairways.
Moi Medina - teacher, lover of all things art and culture. Lifelong LA citizen and a man that could fix any motorcycle that you could throw at him. Guaranteed.
So, there you have it. The Officially Official Tour of California presented by Transmissions presented by the Athletic Community. Check it out, it's a good time.
