Our friends at FairEnds swooped through Portland last weekend like a winged bird dropping custom caps on everyone in sight. If you have a chance and they are in your neighborhood make sure that you swing on over and pick one up. They were on the road at select Patagonia locations adding felt letters (for free!) to their caps and raising money for the Western Montana Growers Cooperative. Which is to say that it is a good cause as well.
Caps I got:
ATHL - Navy wool cap with navy lettering (thanks lady in line for the tip)
JK - No, for real, not a joke. JK needed one — light blue letters on a blue striped denim cap.
JLH - It was Jessica Heenan's birthday and these make amazing gifts - yellow letters - green striped cap.
Caps that I saw (and was jealous of):
BAD - duh, good one.
LOL - I thought it would have gone well with the JK, but when I showed up Will Bryant already had it on lock down for his daughter.
49 - In 49er's colors. It made me seriously question if my allegiance to the Philadelphia 76'ers was great enough to make it happen (it isn't).
RC - Is that right? Robin Cornuelle is one cool lady, I couldn't pull that off anyway.
Now of course I'm blanking on the rest the good ones that came through, but as I stood there shooting the shit with Ben Ferencz, one of the founders of the company, people just kept stepping up with more and more genius caps. Maybe if we can drum up enough interesting 3 letter words we can get them to swing back through Portland on their way to Montana and peel off a few more caps for us? Seriously, who's got a good one?
And while we are at it, check out the Fair Ends recently launched spring summer cap collection.
