A couple weeks back our friends Sean and Carla — the brains and brawn — behind one of our favorite brands — Team Dream Bicycling Team — swung through Portland for a little visit. An "inspiration trip" of sorts. An offsite. A vacation. Take your pick. We tried to entertain them much as possible, taking them to various gluten free restaurants and recommending spots to hike around and see some of the amazing sites in the Pacific Northwest. In turn, they photosnapped some amazing shots of some of our gear while they were wandering around through the trees.
It is unclear when we really met Sean, but I think it was when he was working at Golden Saddle Cyclery (hint: he does a lot of work with them and their mutual side project Ringtail) when Kyle Kelley tried to pit us against one another due to our mutual love for big cats. Is a chubby bobcat a big cat? Yes, it is. In any case, being a big fan of his design and product work we became fast friends, so it was only natural for us to want to show them around when they stopped by for a visit in Portland.
We also decided to stock a few of their awesome Ringtail products in the store and luckily for us Sean was on hand to help merchandise them into our Wahlr. His attention to detail is second to none. Especially when it comes to putting his product front and center. Kidding. It is fun to see what people think of the space and show them what we are doing. Although, we did make up a contract to not copy each others sock designs. Not really. People don't do that kind of thing anyway.
In truth it is good to have people like Sean around that are struggling within the same parameters —working with American manufacturing, trying to create a label of your own, designing products that people enjoy — to bounce ideas off of and just generally goof off with. Because if there is anything that both Sean and I aren't, it's serious. So, thanks to Sean and Carla for stopping by and keeping it light!
And thanks for sweet shots of the Tigre Team Mis-Matched Sock, The La Cubiste Summer White Sock & of course the Team Wooly Mammoth Summer Sock and of course the shop photos.
